Research Assistant (Praedoc): The Szekeres group at the Institute of Chemistry and Biochemistry of Freie Universität Berlin is offering a part-time position for a research assistant (Praedoc) in the BMFTR NanoMatFutur project “GAGosome.” This project aims to investigate glycan-lipid conjugates’ effects on lipid nanoparticles, contributing to targeted drug delivery.
Designation
Research Assistant (Praedoc)
Research Area
- Glycan-lipid conjugates
- Lipid nanoparticles
- Drug delivery systems
Location
Freie Universität Berlin, Altensteinstr. 23a, 14195 Berlin (Dahlem), Germany
Eligibility/Qualification
| Criteria | Details |
|---|---|
| Educational Background | Completed scientific degree (M.Sc. or Diploma) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related subjects |
| Academic Performance | Very good to good degree desirable |
| Relevant Experience | Experience in sugar- and/or lipid chemistry; practical synthesis and conjugation; knowledge of analytical methods (chromatography, mass spectrometry, NMR, etc.) |
| Language Proficiency | Excellent written and spoken English skills |
| Key Attributes | Interest in biomolecular analytical tools, particularly vibrational spectroscopy; efficiency, creativity, proactivity |
Description
The selected PhD student will be integral to designing conjugation strategies, formulating lipid nanoparticles, and conducting structural and chemical characterizations. The work will deepen understanding of how glycan-lipid conjugation affects lipid nanoparticle stability and interactions with physiological target molecules.
