Postdoctoral Position in UK United Kingdom

Research Associate (738063): The University of Strathclyde is seeking a Research Associate to join an industrially funded project within the UK Research Centre in Non-Destructive Evaluation (RCNDE). The successful candidate will work on developing remote ultrasonic array imaging based on laser ultrasonic phased arrays.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Minimum of EngD/PhD in a relevant discipline or significant relevant experience alongside a relevant degree.
  • Knowledge in designing and implementing laboratory experiments in array ultrasonics.
  • Preferred (but not essential): Relevant work experience, membership in professional bodies, experience in student supervision, and knowledge exchange activities.

Job Description:

  • Engage in the development of signal processing techniques for laser ultrasonic array imaging in both 2D and 3D.
  • Develop instrumentation (hardware and software) for fast laser ultrasonic data acquisition.
  • Lead project development and oversee research activities, including presenting findings, writing reports, and conducting demonstrations.
  • Collaborate with industrial partners and researchers within the Centre for Ultrasonic Engineering at Strathclyde.
  • Foster a dynamic and inclusive work environment, contributing to a team focused on safety-critical applications of ultrasonics.
