Job Description
The Research Associate will support laboratory operations, materials management, and shared infrastructure, ensuring efficient and reproducible experimental workflows. Responsibilities include:
Laboratory Operations and Infrastructure
- Coordinate with vendors for chemical and biohazardous waste management.
- Maintain stocks of media, buffers, and other laboratory materials.
- Document and maintain chemical inventory.
- Manage the sterilization of glassware and maintain lab stockroom.
- Oversee incoming packages within the purchasing software.
- Support office operations and facilities.
Experimental Workflows
- Execute workflows with precision while identifying sources of variability and refining SOPs.
- Collect and standardize Raman spectroscopy data across various sample types (e.g., protists, proteins, small molecules).
- Purify proteins using magnetic beads; quality assessment via ELISA and Western Blotting.
- Cultivate protist organisms using aseptic techniques and develop cryopreservation methods.
