Eligibility/Qualification

  • Hold a PhD in microbiology or a closely related discipline.
  • Practical experience in a research environment with publications in relevant and refereed journals.
  • Expertise in molecular biology, microbiology, phage biology, and transduction.
  • Knowledge of research methods and statistical procedures.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Initiate and plan research projects.
  • Direct small research teams.
  • Conduct data analysis and write reports for research sponsors.
  • Present research findings to colleagues and at conferences.
  • Submit publications to refereed journals.
  • Develop research collaborations within the College and the wider community.
  • Promote the Groupโ€™s, Departmentโ€™s, and Collegeโ€™s reputation.
  • Provide guidance to PhD students.
  • Maintain accurate records of experimental work.
  • Participate in Group research meetings and internal seminars.
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the Groupโ€™s laboratories.
  • Assist in supervising undergraduate and postgraduate research students and research assistants.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required by the Head of Group or Division/Department/Section.
