Research Associate at King’s College: King’s College London, Faculty of Life Sciences & Medicine, seeks a highly motivated Research Associate for a British Heart Foundation (BHF) funded project. The research focuses on understanding the epigenetic molecular mechanisms driving vascular disease, with an emphasis on the role of DNA methylation and the enzymatic systems involved. The successful candidate will work collaboratively in the laboratories of Dr. Alison Brewer, Dr. Aleks Ivetic, and Dr. Perucha at the Denmark Hill Campus.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD awarded in Biological Sciences or near completion (candidates awaiting thesis approval will be considered at Research Assistant level).
- Experience in cell culture and Molecular Biology skills (handling and analyzing DNA, RNA, and protein).
- Basic knowledge in cardiovascular biology.
- Good verbal and communication skills.
- Good interpersonal, organizational, and time-management skills.
Job Description: The Research Associate will:
- Conduct high-quality research aligned with the Department/Division/School research strategy.
- Focus on the aims of the specific BHF-funded research project.
- Attend and present research findings at academic meetings and conferences.
- Collaborate with the laboratory team and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students.
- Participate in educational activities relevant to their career stage.
- Liaise with administrative services for project support.
- Contribute to project-related publications.
- Maintain clear records of practical experimentation and share experimental data with the team.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience: Essential Criteria:
- PhD in Biological Sciences.
- Experience in cell culture and Molecular Biology.
- Basic knowledge in cardiovascular biology.
- Good verbal and communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a research team.
- Organizational and time-management skills.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in endothelial cell culture.
- Fluorescence and confocal microscopy skills.
- Knowledge of vascular biology and disease.
- Understanding of cholesterol homeostasis.
*Please note that candidates awaiting PhD thesis approval will be considered at Research Assistant level. Upon confirmation of the PhD award, the job title will become Research Associate with a salary increase.
