Research Associate – Chronic Rodent Electrophysiologist: We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Research Associate to join our team at the College of Veterinary Medical and Life Sciences, School of Psychology and Neuroscience, University of Glasgow. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in a BBSRC-funded project, working alongside Prof. Kate Jeffery and Dr. Mick Craig, to investigate the origin and purpose of a newly discovered type of neuron in the anterior thalamus.

SalaryGrade 7, £39,347 – £44,263 per annum
Job DurationFull time, funding until 31 December 2027

Job Description:

  1. Lead the planning and execution of research in line with project deliverables and ethical guidelines.
  2. Ensure the safety and maintenance of research equipment and provide appropriate training and supervision.
  3. Organize, supervise, mentor, and train junior team members.
  4. Document research output and maintain records and databases.
  5. Contribute to the preparation, submission, and revision of research publications and papers.
  6. Stay updated with recent advances in the field and contribute to the research profile through national and international conferences and presentations.
  7. Engage in personal and professional development and contribute to the overall activities of the research team and department.
