Research Associate (Fixed Term): The University of Cambridge is seeking an outstanding postdoctoral fellow to join the group of Florian Merkle in the Department of Pharmacology. The successful candidate will focus on developing models of insulin and leptin resistance in human neurons, contributing to groundbreaking research in metabolic diseases and potential therapeutic discoveries.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • A PhD in Neuroscience, Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, or a related field.
  • Previous research experience in relevant areas is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and data presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities for collaboration with academic and pharmaceutical partners.

Job Description:

  • Plan and execute research projects aimed at target discovery in a dynamic environment.
  • Analyze, interpret, visualize, and present experimental data to the leadership team.
  • Optimize and validate assays for measuring signal transduction in cellular models.
  • Ensure project deliverables are met on time and within budget.
  • Stay informed on latest scientific literature and technological innovations.
  • Author technical reports, patents, and scientific publications related to research findings.
  • Collaborate effectively with academic and pharma partners, both verbally and in writing.
