Research Associate (Fixed Term): The University of Cambridge is seeking a motivated and skilled Research Associate to join a dynamic team within a joint EPSRC-NSF funded project focusing on Nanoscale Spin Entanglement and Chemistry (NanoSPINEC). The successful candidate will contribute to groundbreaking research in the areas of nanophotonic cavities and quantum correlations.
Designation
Research Associate (Fixed Term)
Research Area
Quantum Physics, Chemistry, Nanoscale Systems, and Optical Dynamics
Location
Department of Physics, University of Cambridge, UK
Eligibility/Qualification
- A PhD in Physics, Chemistry, or a related discipline (or nearing PhD completion).
- Proven experience in measuring optical dynamics on the nanoscale and/or optically-detected magnetic resonance.
- Experience in constructing optical spectroscopy rigs and sample preparation.
- Background in plasmonics, metamaterials, or molecular emitters is advantageous.
Job Description
The Research Associate will:
- Develop and conduct experiments aimed at achieving room-temperature measurements of spin states at the single-molecule level.
- Engage in the tracking of the formation and decay of quantum correlations in exciton singlet fission (SF).
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams across the NanoPhotonics Centre, Optoelectronics Group, and AMOP group.
