About- The Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) is a society registered under Act XXI of 1860 and the corresponding State Act viz. the West Bengal State Registration Act 1961, with its headquarters at 2A & 2B, Raja S. C. Mallick Road, Calcutta – 700 032, West Bengal, India. It has a Governing Council with a number of members elected or nominated and the Registrar as its Non-Member Secretary. The Council has the functions, duties and power as envisaged in the Memorandum and Bye Laws and as per the provisions of the relevant Act.

Eligibility/Qualification–
Research Area: Computational and mathematical modelling of cellular processes
Essential Qualifications: The candidate should have a first or high second-class M.Sc. degree in Physics, with a minimum average of 55% marks in the B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. examinations, along with a good overall academic record. The candidate should also have a Ph.D. with research experience in theoretical and computational biophysics and statistical mechanics, supported by publications in reputed peer-reviewed journals.
The candidate must have strong programming skills in C or C++, preferably with experience in LAMMPS and Python. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in mechanistic modelling of cells. This project involves purely theoretical and computational research.
Age: The upper age limit is 35 years as of the last date of application, with the usual relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/Women/differently abled candidates. Age relaxation may also be considered for outstanding candidates or those with relevant experience.

Research Associate-I (RA-I) position in the School of Physical Sciences, IACS
Applications are invited through email for the appointment of Research Associate-I (Institute-funded) purely on a temporary basis to work full-time in the School of Physical Sciences (SPS), Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science. Tenure of Fellowship: One year from the date of joining as RA-I, extendable to a second year, subject to satisfactory performance and availability of funds, as per the rules of the Institute.
