About- The Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) is a society registered under Act XXI of 1860 and the corresponding State Act viz. the West Bengal State Registration Act 1961, with its headquarters at 2A & 2B, Raja S. C. Mallick Road, Calcutta – 700 032, West Bengal, India. It has a Governing Council with a number of members elected or nominated and the Registrar as its Non-Member Secretary. The Council has the functions, duties and power as envisaged in the Memorandum and Bye Laws and as per the provisions of the relevant Act.

Eligibility/Qualification–
Essential Qualifications: Candidate should have a first class M.Sc. degree in Physics, with minimum average of 60% marks both in B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. examinations, along-with a good overall academic record and has obtained Ph.D. or submitted Ph.D. thesis, with research experience supported by publications in peer-reviewed journal in the field of experimental Condensed Matter Physics.
Desirable Qualifications: Candidates should have prior expertise in single-crystal growth using the floating-zone technique and other related crystal-growth methods. Prior experience with Scanning Tunneling Microscopy (STM) will be an added advantage.

Fellowship: Rs. 58,000/- per month + HRA as per rules of the Association.
Tenure of Fellowship: 1 (One) Year from the date of joining as RA-I/RA-I/Bridge Fellow, as per the rules of the Institute.
