Research Associate in Aeroacoustics: The University of Bristol is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate / Senior Research Associate to join our dynamic team focusing on the aerodynamics and aeroacoustics of dynamic stall. Eligibility/Qualification:

  • A postgraduate research degree (or equivalent professional qualification) in Aerospace/Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Significant professional experience in the required area may also be considered.
  • Research experience in experimental aerodynamics and aerodynamics measurements.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Matlab or similar.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will perform aerodynamic and aeroacoustic tests on pitching aerofoils using national wind tunnel facilities. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting research on high-instrumented aerofoils under various flow conditions.
  • Utilizing flow measurement techniques, including hotwire, PIV, and remote sensing, to analyze flow fields.
  • Characterizing noise from pitching aerofoils using large microphone and beamforming arrays.
  • Collaborating with research partners at Queen Mary University of London and the University of Cambridge.
  • Preparing reports and presentations for project meetings and publishing in leading international journals.
  • Attending international conferences to present research findings.
