The successful candidate will study the spread of contagion on networks, focusing on:
- Dynamical models for the spread of diseases and ideology on networks
- Bayesian inference for reconstructing networks and disease dynamics
- Developing higher-order network structure measures for disease spread
- Software development in Python to support research and dissemination of results
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Ph.D. in a relevant field (Epidemiology, Public Health, Network Science, Computational Biology, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, Complex Systems, etc.) by the start date
- Proficiency in data analysis, network science, statistical modeling, and programming in Python or a similar language
- Familiarity with infectious disease epidemiology
- Ability to work independently and lead a research project
Job Description:
The Research Associate will have considerable freedom to explore related topics of interest. Responsibilities include developing realistic models for disease spread, reconstructing networks and disease dynamics, and developing measures for disease spread on networks. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for software development in Python to support research efforts and facilitate result dissemination.
