Research Associate in Computational Chemistry and Photophysics: The University of Piemonte Orientale “Amedeo Avogadro” invites applications for two Research Associate positions in the area of Computational Chemistry and Photophysics. The successful candidates will be responsible for developing and implementing new computational models that include solvent polarization effects for the simulation of non-radiative rates, as well as for the development and application of Molecular Dynamics and Monte Carlo methods for the mesoscopic description of molecular photoemission and photovoltaic processes.

Research Area:

  1. Development and implementation of new computational models that include state-specific polarization effects for the simulation of non-radiative rates in solvents.
  2. Development and application of Molecular Dynamics and Monte Carlo methods for the mesoscopic description of molecular photoemission and photovoltaic processes.

Location: Università degli Studi del Piemonte Orientale “Amedeo Avogadro”, Italy

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in Physics and Nanosystems, Physics of Matter, Chemistry, or equivalent.
  • For ID 2075: Master’s degree in Physics or Chemistry.
  • For ID 2076: Master’s degree in Chemistry (LM54) or Physics (LM17).
  • Demonstrated experience in quantum chemistry software (Gaussian, ORCA, OpenMolcas), molecular dynamics (Gromacs), and programming in FORTRAN and Python.

Job Description:

  • Conduct research in the field of computational chemistry and photophysics.
  • Develop and implement new computational models and methods for the simulation of non-radiative processes and mesoscopic photophysical phenomena.
  • Collaborate with the research team and contribute to the project objectives.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals.
