Research Associate in Engineering Biology: Imperial College London is seeking a Research Associate in Engineering Biology to work in the Department of Chemical Engineering. The role involves investigating the design of biocontrollers to advance synthetic biology applications in biomedicine, agriculture, and the environment. The position is part of a collaborative Programme Grant funded by EPSRC in partnership with Oxford and Bristol.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD in Biology, Synthetic Biology, Bioengineering, Chemical Engineering, or related disciplines
  • Ability to think critically, work independently, and lead research projects
  • Experience with synthetic and molecular biology, bacterial and eukaryotic cell engineering
  • Familiarity with multi-group collaborations

Job Description:

  • Actively plan and shape the research project’s direction
  • Supervise and train PhD, UG, and Masters students
  • Set up and manage day-to-day laboratory operations
  • Coordinate with other PDRAs involved in the programme grant
  • Undertake project management, report writing, research papers, and applications
  • Present research at conferences
