Eligibility/Qualification
- Required Degree: Doctorate in Biosystems/Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
- Minimum Requirements:
- Formal training in mechanical/robotic harvesting, machine vision, and system integration.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary research team.
- Proven track record of conducting research resulting in high-quality journal publications.
Job Description
The selected candidate will:
- Collaborate with Dr. Yuzhen Lu and other team members to develop and test automated harvesting mechanisms for specialty crops.
- Integrate machine vision and artificial intelligence technologies into harvesting processes.
- Participate in regular meetings to discuss progress, best practices in design, prototyping, algorithm development, and testing.
- Contribute to manuscript preparation, mentoring undergraduates, and grant proposal development as needed for professional growth.
- Engage in teaching activities as appropriate.
