Job Description
The Research Associate will be an integral part of a vibrant natural language processing group within the School of Computer Science at the University of Sheffield. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting cutting-edge research using NLP and ML methods to analyse online disinformation.
- Developing an AI-based chatbot designed to guide stakeholders (e.g., journalists, policymakers) in countering disinformation.
- Collaborating closely with European partners as part of a large, multidisciplinary team.
- Leading the writing and publication of research findings in high-impact journals.
- Presenting research at international conferences.
- Demonstrating the real-world societal impact of the work to key stakeholders.
- Contributing to the School’s research environment, which is highly rated nationally (8th in the UK for research environment in REF 2021).
