Eligibility/Qualification:
- Scientific university degree (diploma/master’s) in physics, chemistry, material science, computer science, or related field.
- Doctorate in relevant field is advantageous.
- Proficiency in solid-state chemistry and physics.
- Extensive experience in modeling, simulation, and programming.
- Strong programming skills, especially in Python.
- In-depth knowledge of density functional theory and related software.
- Publication track record.
- Fluency in English.
- Experience in machine learning, data analysis, and visualization is beneficial.
- Familiarity with statistical methods is desirable.
Job Description:
- Develop methods for computer-aided accelerated design of inorganic materials focusing on properties like hardness, magnetism, and thermal conductivity.
- Utilize automated density functional theory calculations and machine-learned models.
- Positions are part of the ERC Starting Grant ‘Multibonds: Understanding and designing inorganic materials properties based on two- and multicentre bonds’.
- Two roles available – one emphasizing density functional theory calculations and the other focusing on machine learning.
