Research Associate in Optoelectronics: The Optoelectronics Group of the Department of Physics at the University of Cambridge is inviting applications for a Research Associate position supported by a research grant from the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council. This role will focus on advanced energy materials, specifically hybrid organic-inorganic metal halide perovskite semiconductors.

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • PhD degree in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related disciplines (or close to obtaining).
  • Strong background in semiconductor physics.
  • Experience with metal halide perovskite semiconductors is desirable but not essential.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will:

  • Conduct experimental studies on doping mechanisms for perovskite semiconductors, aiming to enhance their utility in various optoelectronic devices.
  • Carry out measurements of electrical transport coefficients and engage in electrochemical, spectroscopic, microstructural, and device studies.
  • Collaborate closely with research teams at the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford, as well as Princeton University.
  • Participate in extended research visits to Princeton, USA.
  • Actively engage with other researchers and PhD students on related projects at both national and international levels.
