Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in Chemistry or related field.
- Experience in organic synthesis and structure determination (NMR, LCMS).
- Interest in biocatalysis and natural product research.
- Strong background in interdisciplinary research.
Job Description: As a Research Associate, your responsibilities will include:
- Design and synthesis of organic compounds for enzyme-catalyzed [4+2] cycloadditions.
- Structure elucidation using NMR methods and LC-MS.
- Protein isolation, purification, and conducting enzyme assays.
- Scale up of assays using flow chemistry.
- Development of chemoenzymatic total syntheses of bioactive targets.
- Collaboration with researchers at Newcastle University, School of Biochemistry (Bristol), and AstraZeneca (Sweden).
- Management and recording of safety assessments and biological/chemical materials.
- Engaging in project management, communication with collaborators, and drafting publications.
- Assisting in the day-to-day running of a shared research laboratory.
- Supervision of Ph.D. and undergraduate project students.
