Eligibility/Qualification:

Job Description:

  • Conduct research in organic synthesis, specifically focusing on the biomimmetic catalytic asymmetric synthesis of the bisorbicillinoids
  • Collaborate with Dr. Benjamin Buckley and other team members to design and execute experiments
  • Investigate the hydroxylative dearomatisation of substituted resorcinols using a highly enantioselective biomimmetic approach
  • Work towards achieving access to enantiomerically enriched bisorbicillinoid natural products, including (+)-bisorbicillinol, and their non-natural enantiomers through catalyst selection
  • Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and prepare research publications and reports
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in the field of organic synthesis
  • Assist with the supervision and mentoring of undergraduate and postgraduate students
  • Contribute to project meetings and scientific discussions
