Job Description:
- Conduct research in organic synthesis, specifically focusing on the biomimmetic catalytic asymmetric synthesis of the bisorbicillinoids
- Collaborate with Dr. Benjamin Buckley and other team members to design and execute experiments
- Investigate the hydroxylative dearomatisation of substituted resorcinols using a highly enantioselective biomimmetic approach
- Work towards achieving access to enantiomerically enriched bisorbicillinoid natural products, including (+)-bisorbicillinol, and their non-natural enantiomers through catalyst selection
- Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and prepare research publications and reports
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in the field of organic synthesis
- Assist with the supervision and mentoring of undergraduate and postgraduate students
- Contribute to project meetings and scientific discussions
