Eligibility/Qualification
- PhD in Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related discipline
- Significant expertise and experience in materials modelling
- Development of new modelling techniques and implementation into computer codes
- Experience in quantum-mechanical electronic structure theory
- Simulation of optical properties and modelling of nanoplasmonic systems is desirable
Job Description
The successful candidate will join the research group led by Professor Johannes Lischner, co-supervised by Dr. Ivana Savic at King’s College London. The role focuses on the Leverhulme Trust Research Project titled “Harnessing electron-phonon interactions in nanoplasmonic solar energy conversion.” Responsibilities include:
- Developing novel computational methods to enhance the design of metallic nanoparticles for improved solar to chemical energy conversion efficiency via hot carrier interactions with lattice vibrations.
- Engaging in collaborative research and contributing to the project’s overall objectives.
