Research Area

The primary focus of the project is to elucidate sensory perception and signal transduction in cryptochrome-dependent animal magnetoreception through molecular dynamics and spin dynamics simulations.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • A talented and motivated computational biophysicist/chemist.
  • Experience in conducting molecular dynamic and spin dynamic simulations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently as part of a multidisciplinary research team.
  • A background that includes knowledge of in silico approaches to guide and interpret in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo assays, especially with fly and mouse models.

Job Description

The successful candidate will:

  • Conduct molecular dynamics and spin dynamics simulations.
  • Work collaboratively with researchers across multiple sites, including Leicester, Manchester, Oxford, the National Physical Laboratory, and Exeter.
  • Engage in high-quality research aimed at achieving defined milestones.
