Eligibility / Qualification
- Completed Ph.D., Dr. med., or equivalent degree in Medicine, Biology, or a related field.
- Willingness to work with animal models.
- Prior experience in the field of glial biology is desirable, though not mandatory.
- Professional experience in a comparable research position is advantageous.
- Willingness to familiarize yourself with and participate in anatomical teaching.
- Enthusiasm for working with and mentoring students.
Job Description
- Research Execution: Actively participate in projects investigating how innate immune cells regulate glial reactivity in response to brain injuries and glioblastomas, using mouse cerebral cortex or brain organoids as model systems.
- Experimental Methods: Utilize state-of-the-art techniques including live-cell imaging, single-cell transcriptomics, spatial transcriptomics, and viral-vector-based gain- and loss-of-function experiments.
- Project Management: Independently plan, execute, and meticulously document experiments.
- Mentorship & Teaching: Supervise Master’s students and actively contribute to anatomy classes (histology/neuroanatomy) for students of human and dental medicine.
