Job Description: The Research Associate / PhD Student will work with the Chair of Ultrafast Solid State Physics and Photonics on a project within the ERC-CoG “T-Higgs – Phase-Resolved THz-Higgs Spectroscopy on Superconductors.” The project aims to create “stack-and-twist-devices” of superconductors for optical studies and control. The student will collaborate with the Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research to develop complex superconducting nanosystems for optical measurements and control using ultrashort and high-field MIR and THz pulses. The projects may serve as potential Ph.D. thesis projects.

Requirements:

  • University degree in physics (Master/Diploma); candidates with a bachelor’s degree are encouraged to inquire.
  • Interest in optics, solid-state science, and quantum materials.
  • Relevant experience in ultrashort pulse lasers and time-resolved experiments or device fabrication is a plus.
  • A keen interest in solid-state research, both at table-top experiments and large-scale facilities.
