Research Associate (Post-doc): Are you interested in making a significant impact in the realm of land economics? Scholarship Description:

Research Associate (Post-doc) in the Political Economy of Land

The project’s goal is to uncover how historical landownership patterns, regulatory frameworks, and institutional structures influence housing production, urban planning, and spatial development. Your research will help us understand the effects of land commodification and financialization on urban development. As part of this project, you will develop a typology of landowners through land value chains, data analysis, and interviews with key stakeholders.

Eligibility: We are seeking a candidate who:

  • Holds a Ph.D. (or is close to completing one) in geography, housing studies, sociology, economics, or related social sciences.
  • Has prior research experience in the political economy of land, housing studies, spatial planning, or critical property studies, with demonstrable research impact.
  • Possesses expertise in analyzing geo-coded property data and/or qualitative research methods.
  • Has excellent written and spoken English skills (proficiency in French or German is an asset).
