Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Completed doctoral degree in ecology, environmental sciences, or related field.
  • Research experience in biodiversity research, biotic interactions, biogeography, biological invasions, mountain ecology, or functional ecology
  • Demonstrated relevant publications in peer-reviewed journals
  • Experience in designing ecological studies
  • Proficiency in botanical knowledge
  • In-depth knowledge of data analysis and statistical modeling using R software
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English, as evidenced by a list of international publications
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and team skills

Job Description: As a Research Associate in Vegetation Ecology, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting research within the existing research fields of the working group, with the potential to bring complementary expertise.
  • Participation in research platforms, particularly MIREN or BEF-China.
  • Publishing research results in international peer-reviewed journals.
  • Securing third-party funding for independent research projects.
  • Opportunities for further qualifications, including habilitation.
  • Teaching in bachelor’s and master’s programs (4 SWS), including thesis supervision. English-language teaching is possible.
  • Co-supervision of doctoral researchers.
