Research Fellow – AR3123DD: The School of Chemistry at the University of St Andrews invites applications for a 1-year Postdoctoral Research Associate position to work with Dr. Amit Kumar. Eligibility/Qualification

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry with a proven track record in homogeneous catalysis, organic and/or organometallic chemistry.
  • Experience in polymer chemistry (e.g., polymer synthesis/characterization) is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and good time-management ability.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a research group.

Job Description

The main responsibilities of the post-holder are:

  1. Carry out research in the group of Dr. Amit Kumar.
  2. Provide day-to-day technical assistance and guidance to undergraduate and PhD students within the group.
  3. Take leadership in the day-to-day running of the laboratory and upkeep of equipment.
  4. Conduct experimental risk assessments to ensure research is conducted safely.

The position is full-time (36.25 hours) and has flexible working hours that can be discussed.
