Research Fellow at University of Birmingham: Join the University of Birmingham’s Institute of Cancer and Genomic Sciences within the College of Medical and Dental Sciences as a Research Fellow. Location: Birmingham

Eligibility/Qualification:

  • First degree in a relevant area of specialism and a PhD (or near completion) in a related research field or equivalent qualifications
  • Background in DNA replication and/or DNA damage and/or genome stability fields
  • Experience in biochemistry and cell biology, fluency in relevant models, techniques, or methods, and the ability to contribute to the development of new ones
  • High-level analytical capability
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly
  • Ability to assess resource requirements and use resources effectively
  • Understanding of and ability to contribute to broader management/administration processes
  • Contribution to planning and organizing research programs and specific projects

Job Description: As a Research Fellow, your responsibilities include:

  • Developing research objectives and proposals for individual or collaborative research, with mentorship as needed
  • Contributing to the preparation of research funding bids
  • Collecting, analyzing, and interpreting research data
  • Applying knowledge to advance intellectual understanding
  • Disseminating research findings through publications, research seminars, etc.
  • Providing guidance to PhD students and supervising research-related work
  • Contributing to the development of new models, techniques, and methods
  • Undertaking management and administration related to research activities
