Research Fellow at University of Birmingham: The University of Birmingham’s College of Engineering and Physical Sciences invites applications for the position of Research Fellow. This postdoctoral research fellow will be part of an interdisciplinary team working on a UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship focused on “Nanofluidic energy absorption of Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs).” The project aims to advance the science and application of nanoporous materials, particularly MOFs, in mechanical energy absorption. The position offers the opportunity to work with a collaborative team, utilize a new lab facility, and benefit from a world-class collaboration network.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD degree (or approaching completion) or equivalent qualifications in relevant areas such as chemistry, material science, physics, or engineering.
- Expertise in crystallography, particularly in powder X-ray diffraction and Rietveld refinement.
- Proficient in various material characterization techniques.
- Knowledge or experience of beamtime experiments in central facilities.
- Experience in materials synthesis, preferably using hydrothermal or solvothermal methods.
- Demonstrated commitment to research excellence through publications.
- Ability to supervise junior researchers or students.
- Strong management and communication skills for project management and interdisciplinary collaborations.
