Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD in a relevant discipline (or individuals who have almost completed their doctoral degree may be considered).
  • Essential experience in CFD simulations using OpenFOAM.

Job Description

The selected candidate will work on:

  • Utilizing and further developing the in-house HyFOAM solver for simulating hydrogen jet fires and explosions.
  • Conducting simulations of vapour cloud explosions from cryogenic liquid hydrogen releases as part of a collaborative project.
  • Contributing to experimentation through in-house small and medium-scale tests to validate the models.
  • Interacting with industrial sponsors from the oil and gas industry to align research with real-world applications.
  • Limited modifications to the existing HyFOAM framework will be required, with support from a Senior Research Fellow for code consolidation.
