Research Fellow in Energy Materials, University of Warwick, UK

Postdoctoral Position in UK United Kingdom

Research Fellow in Energy Materials: Join the Department of Chemistry at the University of Warwick as a postdoctoral Research Fellow to accelerate the development of novel materials for renewable energy generation and storage.

Research Fellow in Advanced Characterisation of Energy Materials

  • Designation: Research Fellow
  • Research Area: Advanced Characterisation of Energy Materials
  • Location: University of Warwick Campus, Coventry
  • Eligibility/Qualification: Candidates should have completed or be near completing a PhD in chemistry, physics, materials science, or a related discipline. Passion and experience in materials characterisation, (battery) electrochemistry, and/or (solid-state) NMR spectroscopy are desired. Candidates are not expected to meet all desirable criteria.
  • Job Description: The successful candidate will be involved in an EPSRC-funded project aimed at determining the atomic-scale structure and dynamics of functional materials for renewable energy generation and storage. The primary method for this will be solid-state NMR, complemented by techniques such as diffraction, electron microscopy, and electrochemistry. The role will involve studying MXene materials for battery and supercapacitor applications, developing advanced methods to determine the behavior of ions in these materials, and potentially contributing to projects on degradation in lithium-ion batteries and halide perovskite photovoltaics.
  • How to Apply: To apply, click ‘Apply’ on the University of Warwick’s official website, warwick-careers.tal.net. Submit an application form along with a CV and cover letter detailing how you meet the essential criteria found in the Job Description document, as well as any desirable criteria where possible.
