Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD in Materials Science and Engineering, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong background in additive manufacturing or mechanical testing of structural alloys.
  • Experience in high-temperature mechanical property evaluation is desirable.
  • Good understanding of microstructure–property relationships in structural alloys.
  • Knowledge of fracture mechanics and experience with fracture experiments is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with artificial intelligence or machine learning applied to materials research is a plus.

Description

This position involves conducting research on advanced structural alloys through additive manufacturing. Responsibilities include designing experiments to evaluate mechanical properties under extreme temperature conditions, characterizing microstructures, and analyzing microstructure–mechanical property relationships. The role also emphasizes applying data-driven methods for materials discovery, analyzing research data, publishing results, and supervising students involved in related projects.
