Research Fellow in Materials Discovery: A Research Fellow position is available in the group of Professor M. J. Rosseinsky OBE FRS to work in a team of computer scientists and materials chemists. The position is part of the AIChemy – AI in Chemistry Hub, a new partnership between the University of Liverpool, Imperial College London, and a consortium of academic and industrial partners. The successful candidate will develop artificial intelligence methods for the prediction of crystal structure, a critical step in materials prediction and discovery.

Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in a relevant field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, etc.)
- Expertise in cutting-edge AI and machine learning
- Experience in structure prediction or materials chemistry is advantageous, but not a prerequisite
Job Description:
- Develop and apply new machine learning approaches to crystal structure prediction
- Integrate AI technologies with robotics to accelerate the discovery and synthesis of new materials
- Engage with chemists and materials scientists to ensure the developed methods optimally leverage domain expertise and integrate into “human in the loop” workflows
- Share knowledge and train others in the group
