Job Description:
As a Research Fellow, you will be an integral part of the HILTRAC project team, optimizing the apparatus and applying it to study reactions of radicals with small organic compounds. You will conduct investigations, lead or assist in instrument optimization, supervise students, disseminate research findings, and contribute to the overall success of the project.

Person Specification:

  • PhD (or near completion) in Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, Atmospheric Science, or related discipline
  • Strong technical background in laser spectroscopy, particularly of gases
  • Experience in building instrumentation
  • Proficiency in data analysis programs (e.g., MATLAB, LabVIEW) or programming languages (e.g., Python)
  • Proven track record of peer-reviewed publications
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Understanding of broader management/administration processes
  • Knowledge of Equality Act 2010 and commitment to equality and diversity
