Background: A Research Fellow position is available in the group of Dr. Pike at the University of Birmingham in the area of synthetic supramolecular chemistry. The research will focus on the development of foldamers with applications in supramolecular chemistry, materials science, and the potential to regulate functions, such as sensing biologically important molecules.

Role Summary:

Person Specification:

  • Experience in synthetic organic chemistry (essential) and supramolecular chemistry (desired)
  • PhD (or near completion) in synthetic organic chemistry or supramolecular chemistry
  • High-level analytical capability
  • Clear communication of complex information
  • Resource management and effective resource utilization
  • Understanding of broader management/administration processes
  • Knowledge of the Equality Act 2010 and commitment to promoting equality and diversity
