Research Fellow in UCL: Join the School of Life & Medical Sciences at the UCL Great Ormond Street Institute of Child Health (GOS ICH) in London as a Research Fellow. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a UKRI Medical Research Council (MRC) project led by Dr. Naresh Hanchate, focusing on investigating the impact of early life adversities on brain circuitry. Eligibility/Qualification: To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • A PhD in a relevant field.
  • BSc in Biological Sciences.
  • Experience in molecular biology techniques, including cloning and RNAseq.
  • Proficiency in transfection and cellular work.
  • Experience working with viruses at respective biosafety levels.
  • Competence in performing stereotaxic injections for intracranial delivery of viruses.
  • Familiarity with mouse neurobehavioral and neuroendocrine analyses (desirable).

Job Description: As a Research Fellow, you will:

  • Conduct murine studies, including maintaining transgenic lines.
  • Perform behavioral and physiological studies.
  • Carry out surgical manipulations for stereotaxic delivery of viruses intracranially.
  • Prepare single-cell cDNA libraries, perform sequencing, and conduct analyses.
  • Collaborate with UCL Genomics.
  • Supervise undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Work on a 24-month funded MRC project.
  • Earn a competitive salary ranging from £40,524 to £42,705 per annum.
