Research Area

The project will focus on investigating ecological community responses to human impacts globally and delivering technological solutions for biodiversity monitoring using air quality networks.

Job Description

You will conduct field and laboratory experiments characterizing airborne eDNA and validating models of particulate dispersal. Additionally, you will analyze long-term datasets from national air quality networks to track changes in species richness and community composition due to environmental variations and human impacts.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform fieldwork and lab research.
  • Collaborate with other researchers and external partners.
  • Conduct bioinformatics analyses and apply ecological statistics.
  • Document fieldwork, lab work, and maintain meticulous records.
  • Contribute to writing publications and reports.

Eligibility/Qualification

  • PhD in a relevant field or imminent submission of thesis.
  • Significant experience in ecological/environmental genetics or environmental DNA.
  • Proficiency in laboratory methodology and bioinformatics, especially in R or Python.
  • Excellent project management and communication skills.
