Eligibility/Qualification:
- A completed scientific university degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, or related fields.
- Experience in at least two of the following fields: microbiology, microscopy, biochemistry, and bacterial genetics.
- Knowledge of a scripting language (e.g., Python) is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and as part of an international team.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English.
- Creative thinking and enthusiasm for developing new approaches and methods.
Job Description:
- Conduct scientific research in the DFG project “New concepts in prokaryotic virus-host interactions,” focusing on the cell biology of bacteria and bacteriophages.
- Write scientific publications and attend scientific meetings and conferences.
- Perform state-of-the-art microbiological laboratory work, particularly with advanced microscopy techniques.
- Opportunity to obtain scientific qualification (doctorate).
