Eligibility/Qualification
- First degree in a relevant area of specialism.
- Normally, a higher degree relevant to research area or equivalent qualifications.
- Expertise in assay development, particularly with Luminex technology.
- Experience in nanoparticle technology and molecular biology techniques.
- Knowledge of clinical trial protocols and regulatory requirements for diagnostic assay validation is advantageous.
Job Description
The Research Fellow will be integral in developing a Luminex assay platform enhanced with synthetic glycan recognition sites and nanoparticle technology for the detection of subtle glycan differences associated with cancer.
Main Duties:
- Develop research objectives and proposals.
- Contribute to writing bids for research funding.
- Analyze and interpret research findings.
- Disseminate research findings through publications and seminars.
- Supervise students and provide guidance to PhD candidates.
- Collaborate across disciplines to refine assay sensitivity.
- Contribute to departmental research activities and administration.
