Research Fellow (Statistician): King’s College London is seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow specializing in statistics to contribute to the Eating Disorders Clinical Research Network. Eligibility/Qualification

  • Essential Criteria:
  1. PhD qualified in biostatistics, statistics, or a related field (or pending results).
  2. Proficient in using R, Python, or similar programming languages.
  3. Experience working with clinical data.
  4. Proven track record of developing research programmes and methodologies in a relevant field.
  5. Evidence of publishing peer-reviewed outputs in high-quality journals.
  6. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  7. Ability to communicate complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Desirable Criteria:
  1. Interest or experience in eating disorders or general mental health.
  2. Familiarity with Trusted Research Environments for data analysis.
  3. Knowledge or experience in target trial emulation.
  4. Experience in teaching or supervision.

Job Description

The successful candidate will join the Eating Disorders Clinical Research Network (EDCRN), which is a collaborative initiative co-led by King’s College London and the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. Responsibilities include:

  • Developing data analysis pipelines for the core dataset that encompasses eating disorder symptoms, treatment outcomes, demographics, risk factors, and physical health markers.
  • Conducting proof-of-principal emulated clinical trial analyses, assessing treatment group outcomes, and comparing existing treatments with novel modalities.
  • Collaborating with EDCRN team members and leveraging external data sources, such as data from the Eating Disorders Genetics Initiative UK.
  • Proposing and leading original analytical projects, contributing to an extensive research initiative aimed at enhancing the understanding of eating disorders.

This is a full-time position with a fixed-term contract available from 1st December 2024 until 29th October 2026.
