  • Ph.D. completed less than 3 years before the application deadline in Genetics, Biology, Bioinformatics, Computational Chemistry, Computer/Information Sciences, or related fields.
  • Preferred qualifications include academic or professional experience in bioinformatics and computational biology, proficiency in English, and relevant technical skills.

Job Description: The selected candidate will work on the DURABLE project, focusing on identifying and evaluating targets for compounds with anti-viral activity. The role involves conservation studies, characterization of crystallographic structures, prediction of drugability, and in silico screening of antiviral compounds. The fellowship aims to contribute to the project’s goals of identifying threats to public health and coordinating rapid responses.

How to Apply: Interested candidates must submit their applications by email to and with the subject line “DURABLE – Vítor Borges.” The application deadline is 22/02/2024. Include a detailed and signed CV, simple copies of qualification certificates, and a motivational letter in English.

Last Date for Apply: 22/02/2024

Selection Process: Candidates will undergo a two-phase evaluation, including a CV and motivation assessment, followed by a knowledge and skills assessment interview. The final evaluation considers both phases, with a 50% weight for each. The highest-scoring candidate will be selected, and the jury may decide to reopen the process if no candidate meets the minimum requirements.

Workplace: The fellowship will be at the Antiviral Resistance and Viral Pathogenesis Unit, in collaboration with the Genomic and Bioinformatics Unit of the Department of Infectious Diseases, INSA, Lisbon.
