Eligibility/Qualification:
Required:

  • PhD degree
  • C-level proficiency in Spanish and English
  • Expertise in vascular plant taxonomy
  • Documented research experience in Mexico
  • Independent work capability and field team management skills

Preferred:

  • PhD in Botany, Plant Ecology, Ecology and Evolution, Conservation Biology, or Microbial Genetics
  • Experience with molecular approaches to taxonomy
  • Expertise in bromeliads, orchids, and/or lichens taxonomy

Job Description:

  • Conduct field research in tropical forests
  • Apply molecular taxonomy methods
  • Perform community ecological modeling
  • Collaborate with international teams
  • Supervise field volunteers
  • Study ecosystem disturbance responses
  • Work with both Mexican and Italian research teams
