Research Officer (Postdoctoral Position): The Children’s Cancer Institute, an independent Medical Research Institute in Australia dedicated to childhood cancer, is seeking a Research Officer for its Tumour Biology & Targeting (TBT) department. Eligibility/Qualification:
- PhD in a relevant scientific or medical field
- Laboratory experience and knowledge
- Advanced cell biology skills
- Experience in pre-clinical research, including personalized medicine and organoid development
- Advanced live-cell imaging and imaging analysis skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience with preclinical tumor mouse models
- Problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to plan and conduct experiments
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Flexible attitude to work
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Job Description: The Research Officer will:
- Manage research projects, ensuring they meet deadlines and milestones.
- Coordinate and participate in internal and external collaborations and research meetings.
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with collaborators.
- Design and implement research using 3D blood-brain barrier and tumor models.
- Mentor junior staff and students.
- Prepare progress reports.
- Conduct research either independently or as part of a team.
- Contribute to high-quality publications.
- Present findings at national and/or international conferences.
- Assist with research funding submissions.
- Prepare or assist with the preparation of gene technology (OGTR) and ethics approvals.
- Comply with regulatory guidelines (including OGTR and ethics) and Institute policies.
