Research Positions in Bacterial Cell Signaling: The Selim Lab at the University of Freiburg, Germany, is seeking motivated M.Sc., PhD students, and postdoctoral researchers for research positions focusing on bacterial protein machineries and cell signaling. These positions are funded for at least 3 years through grants from DFG and the Ministry of Education and Research.
Title: Research Positions in Bacterial Cell Signaling at Selim Lab, University of Freiburg
Designation:
M.Sc. Students, PhD Students, and Postdoctoral Researchers
Research Area:
Bacterial Cell Signaling, Structural Biology, Protein Biochemistry
Location:
University of Freiburg, Germany
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Degree or training in Structural Biology and Biochemistry
- Strong background in single particle cryo-EM or Protein X-ray Crystallography
- Relevant experience in structural biology, with a focus on protein assembly and dynamics
Job Description:
Successful candidates will investigate the molecular mechanisms of PII superfamily signaling proteins, which sense and decode the metabolic state of bacterial cells. Using advanced techniques in structural biology and protein biochemistry, researchers will explore the assembly dynamics of PII-complexome machinery in response to the cell’s metabolic status. The project offers a highly collaborative environment with cutting-edge methodological equipment.
How to Apply:
Please send your CV (including publication list, relevant certificates, and contact details of two references) along with a motivation letter explaining your experience in structural biology as a single PDF file to Khaled.selim@biologie.uni-freiburg.de.
Last Date for Application:
October 15, 2024, or as soon as possible until the positions are filled.
Note: The University of Freiburg encourages female candidates to apply and promotes equal treatment in line with the Equal Treatment Act.
