Eligibility/Qualification:
Qualified candidates with backgrounds in dye chemistry, polymer science, biology, or programming are encouraged to apply. While a Master’s degree is preferred, candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields may consult the lab for a waiver possibility for the requirement of a Master’s degree. Specific qualifications tailored to each research area are mentioned in the job description below.

Job Description:

  1. Small-Molecule Fluorescent Probe Development:
  • Postdoctoral Fellow: Background in organic synthesis of fluorescent probes, fluorescence spectroscopy, confocal microscopy, or cell staining preferred.
  • PhD Student: Background in chemistry or polymer science highly encouraged to apply. Successful candidates can be admitted to the Chemistry or Fiber and Polymer Science PhD programs at NC State.
  1. Single-Molecule Imaging:
  • Postdoctoral Fellow: Experience in single-molecule localization microscopy, optical platform development, image processing, or machine learning preferred.
  • PhD Student: Background in biophysics or biomedical engineering highly encouraged to apply. Successful candidates can be admitted to the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering PhD program at UNC Chapel Hill/NC State.
