Research Scientist at Norwich Research Park: Join the Laboratory of Dr. Gemma Langridge in the Microbes and Food Safety program as a Research Scientist.
Designation: Research Scientist
Research Area: Bacterial diversity, genetic variation, niche adaptation, and virulence in Salmonella enterica serovar Dublin.
Location: Norwich Research Park, United Kingdom


Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Hold a PhD in Microbiology, Bioinformatics, or a related discipline.
  • Strong background in sequence analysis.
  • Good understanding of long and short read sequencing.
  • Awareness of Salmonella zoonosis.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Job Description:

  • Investigate the genetic basis of virulence in Salmonella enterica serovar Dublin.
  • Collaborate on a project with the University of Edinburgh.
  • Perform long-read sequencing of S. Dublin isolates.
  • Conduct genomic variation analysis to investigate virulence.
  • Sequence isolates from in vitro and in vivo phenotyping.
  • Collaborate with a UoE research scientist to link genotype to phenotype.
