Job Description:
The Research Scientist I will be responsible for:
- Fuel Model Development: Generating spatial layers of predicted fuel characteristics for fire behavior models based on extensive field measures and remote sensing data.
- Maintaining Datasets: Coordinating the continuation of observational and experimental datasets focused on fuel structure, plant communities, and soil characteristics alongside field assistants and students.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Engaging with partner organizations to facilitate local land management initiatives and communicate findings to the public about grassland fire behavior and hazards.
