Research Scientist -Living Systems: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Scientist to join our experimental group at the Gehrels lab. Job Description:

  • Utilize live-imaging techniques to quantify cellular dynamics during embryonic development in Drosophila.
  • Investigate the role of cell-scale fluctuations in tissue fluidization and their dependency on cellular energy consumption.
  • Correlate experimental results with biophysical models of tissue mechanics and non-equilibrium statistical mechanics of living systems.
  • Contribute to the understanding of physical mechanisms driving tissue flows and self-organization in synthetic model systems.
