Eligibility/Qualification:
- Recently completed a doctorate (typically no more than 5 years ago) in soil microbiology or a relevant discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to publish in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals.
- Strong skills in experimental research and methodologies related to microbiology.
- Experience with soil microbiological research methods and statistical analysis of field trial data.
- Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with researchers and experts, as well as independently.
- Advantageous to have experience in agroecology, root research, or crop production and nutrient cycles.
Job Description:
The selected candidate will conduct high-level research at the intersection of the academic community, industry, and administration, focusing on:
- Studying the impact of crop diversification, including grasslands, and soil amendments on agro-biodiversity, yield production, and plant disease suppression.
- Conducting long-term field experiments and data analysis.
- Reporting and publishing research findings.
- Engaging in project management activities and participating in funding applications alongside other scientists.
- Participating in the Luke Doctoral and Postdoctoral Programme.
