Eligibility/Qualification:

  • Recently completed a doctorate (typically no more than 5 years ago) in soil microbiology or a relevant discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to publish in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals.
  • Strong skills in experimental research and methodologies related to microbiology.
  • Experience with soil microbiological research methods and statistical analysis of field trial data.
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with researchers and experts, as well as independently.
  • Advantageous to have experience in agroecology, root research, or crop production and nutrient cycles.

Job Description:
The selected candidate will conduct high-level research at the intersection of the academic community, industry, and administration, focusing on:

  • Studying the impact of crop diversification, including grasslands, and soil amendments on agro-biodiversity, yield production, and plant disease suppression.
  • Conducting long-term field experiments and data analysis.
  • Reporting and publishing research findings.
  • Engaging in project management activities and participating in funding applications alongside other scientists.
  • Participating in the Luke Doctoral and Postdoctoral Programme.
