Research Scientists or Postdoctoral Researchers: The Laboratory for Retrotransposon Dynamics at the RIKEN Center for Integrative Medical Sciences (Team Leader: Tomoichiro Miyoshi) is looking to hire two dedicated researchers for the positions of Research Scientist or Postdoctoral Researcher. Our laboratory delves into the study of mammalian retrotransposon biology related to genomic alterations, immune responses, and epigenomic regulation.
Research Scientists or Postdoctoral Researchers (IMS209-2302)
Designation: Research Scientist or Postdoctoral Researcher
Research Area: Our research focuses on mammalian retrotransposon biology, including:
- Genomic alteration
- Immune responses
- Epigenomic regulation
We utilize omics data analysis (proteomics, genomics, transcriptomics) to explore retrotransposon-mediated immune responses, aging regulation, and the development of new technologies to control these processes.
Location: RIKEN Center for Integrative Medical Sciences, 1-7-22 Suehiro-cho, Tsurumi-ku, Yokohama-shi, Kanagawa 230-0045, Japan. RIKEN has a work-from-home policy, and employees may be required to change work locations if necessary.
Eligibility/Qualification:
- Common to all positions:
- Sufficient research experience in mammalian retrotransposons or skills in genome sequencing, transcriptome, or proteomics analysis.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external collaborators.
- Research Scientist:
- A doctoral degree awarded at least 3 years ago in a relevant field.
- Postdoctoral Researcher:
- A doctoral degree awarded less than 3 years ago in a relevant field.
Job Description: The successful candidate will conduct research on aging regulation, immune responses, and genomic alteration using retrotransposon-related omics data. The position and specific duties may be adjusted during the contract period or upon renewal.
