The Bouhaddou lab at UCLA is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join their team and study protein signaling dynamics in response to viral infection using a combination of mass spectrometry proteomics, experimental virology, and computational modeling. The lab is focused on comparing how different viruses manipulate and are manipulated by, mammalian phosphorylation signaling cascades.
Designation: Postdoctoral Researcher
Research Area: Quantitative Virology
Location: Bouhaddou Lab, University of California Los Angeles (UCLA)
Eligibility/Qualification: The candidate should have a PhD or MD degree in a subfield of biology, computer science, engineering, or similar, and prior experience in at least one of the following: (1) virology, (2) mass spectrometry proteomics, (3) bioinformatics or computational modeling, or (4) molecular biology and cell culture. Dual experimental and computational experience is preferred but not required.
Job Description: The Postdoctoral Researcher will work with the Bouhaddou lab team to study protein signaling dynamics in response to viral infection using a combination of mass spectrometry proteomics, experimental virology, and computational modeling. The candidate will combine their prior experiences with a new skill set they will learn in the lab to develop their research project. The lab is generally focused on combining mass spectrometry phosphoproteomics, virology and molecular biology, and computational modeling to systematically compare how different viruses manipulate, and are manipulated by, mammalian phosphorylation signaling cascades.
